Mission:

Convergent HRS, LLC is dedicated to helping our customers achieve and sustain superior patient care measured by improvements in safety and productivity. These improvements are accomplished by thoroughly understanding our customer and providing tailored guidance in a partnership mode. This guidance is supported with highly targeted motivational, informational and performance tools to skillfully integrate the proven principles of high reliability organizations into individual, team and organizational practices.

Leadership:

Spencer L. Byrum is the co-founder and Managing Partner of Convergent HRS LLC.  Mr. Byrum’s specialty is taking lessons learned in aviation and developing innovative process improvements and training for professions in which people need to make critical decisions in a stressful, demanding environment. Mr. Byrum spent his first career as a Coast Guard pilot, in charge of Safety at two major Air Stations, overseeing everything from hazardous material compliance to complex ground and flight mishap inquiries. He has been a member on military, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) accident investigations and also served as Head of an international airport Safety Advisory Committee. Since retiring from the Coast Guard, Mr. Byrum has been the keynote speaker at nearly 200 national and international conferences on safety and high reliability processes.  He has implemented comprehensive programs for NASA, NATO, and many major healthcare providers in the US, Canada, and the United Kingdom. He is the former Vice President of Business Development for CTI and the former CEO of both Crossfeed and Convergent Healthcare.  Mr. Byrum has served on the Board of Advisors for the Memphis Chamber of Commerce and the Board Directors of Leadership Memphis, the Germantown Economic Development Commission, the Memphis Belle Memorial Foundation, and the Grove Park Homeowners Association.  He is currently the Vice President of the Christian Brothers High School Parent Board and is the President of the Christian Brothers Lacrosse Board.

Lee Flowers is the co-founder and Managing Partner of Convergent HRS, LLC. He is a senior executive with extensive experience leading major performance improvement initiatives and operational turnarounds in complex global businesses with entrenched cultures. He has served as President and C.E.O. of Continuum, Inc. a developer of high technology lasers for the medical and defense industries, Executive Vice President of Dade International, a global developer of healthcare products and services, Executive Vice President of Baxter Diagnostics, Inc, Baxter’s largest subsidiary, and President of several Baxter Health Care Divisions. He has completed numerous engagements on safety and productivity improvements involving large and small hospitals, outpatient clinics, ambulatory surgery centers and rehabilitation facilities. He has provided high level oversight of major performance improvement initiatives while serving on Boards of Directors of companies in the U.S., Japan, and Canada.
